In my book she was the reason it was easy. She helped us take a difficult and stressful situation and turn it around. Our world would be a better place if there were more people like her. ALL OF THE GOLD stars are for HELEN!!!!

Brought my little brother her for an asthma attack. They were amazing. Helped us with everything. Was quick and attentive. Actually cared about what was happening. Very good hospital!!!!!

The evening went on as planned, my son was hooked up to a million little wires (we told him it was a alien costume that he got to wear all night). She told him stories, gave him snacks, gave us extra pillows and blankets to make sure we were all comfortable. Best of all she was generous to give my son a gift the morning after the test was over.

Helen Conklin is a superb example of a nurse. She works in the sleep center at the Goryeb Children's Hospital.

BUT, from the second we finally found where we were going (and on a scale of 1-10 stress level we were an 11) and met Helen she was calm, understanding, humorous and generally cared that we were all ok.

My transgender son has visited Goryeb several times in the past 3 years. Each and every time he has interacted with the staff they have all made a concerted effort to use the appropriate pronouns and to refer to him by his desired name. This requires significant effort on their part as we are currently in the process of changing his legal name so all documents use his "old" name. Dr. Lazar, Dr. Chin and the nurses in the day procedure area were amazing. Thanks for the care and respect you showed my son.

Recently my one year old was experiencing high fevers for a few days and took her to this ER room, where the doctor told me my baby has pneumonia and ear infection in one ear. Pediatrician retrieved the results of the chest xray and there was no pneumonia! !!!! We're still trying to get a hold of who is in charge to find out more information as to why this was a result for the doctor. My baby was given antibiotics for the pneumonia which was not necessary to administer nor to prescribe. Totally upset about this! It's like you can't trust a doctor at the Goreyeb Children's Hospital. More harm was done than good. My baby had an allergic reaction to the medication. Outrageous!

My 4 year old son had to go in for a sleep study and stay over night.

Long story short when we got to the hospital for the study we were stressed from a long busy day, because we couldn't figure out where we were going (by the way the hospital desperately needs to change the directions for getting to the center..they are awful!!!), had trouble parking, then walked in and couldn't find where the heck we were going (no staff anywhere to be found....total ghost town).

I don't have the words to describe how much we loved our experience at this hospital; I had to bring my son to the emergency room due to an extremely high fever and the way they treated us was beyond amazing. Everyone was so nice; they had to do some blood work and they had 3 nurses help with the whole procedure, one of the nurses had a little "buzzing bubble bee" to help distract my son and it was definitely a success and helped my son not to think about the neddles! No tears! Not the usual drama we have to go through every time he gets any blood work done and at the end they gave him a gift... He got a ninja turtle night light pillow pet! They were so loving and caring and I just can't thank them enough!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Our nurse Juan and the whole team....
